Although there are various other libraries around campus (notably the large Owen Science Library), the anchor library at its heart is Holland/New Library. Technically, only the older building on the left is "Holland"; the New Library awaits a generous donor to bestow a name on it. But most people continue to refer to the two connected buildings as "Holland."

It's one of the more attractive newer buildings on campus, deliberately designed to make an immediate impact. From the campus mall it presents a low, inviting profile because its several stories are built into the side of a steep hill.
