There are several mountain recreational areas in the Cascades. We won't explore them here; but the newest addition--Gold Creek--makes a nice stop for a walk or a picnic. Look for Gold Creek signs around Hyak.

This is an old gravel quarry which has been reclaimed, with the pit becoming a picturesque small lake in a spectacular mountain setting.
