Beside the Palouse River below the eastern slope of Pioneer Hill is the City Playfield, which in summer can host four baseball games simultaneously.

Its track is popular with joggers and walkers. You can occasionally spot waterfowl in the river as you walk along its bank.

Across South Street to the south is the charmless but handy little RV and tent park run by the city. For reservations call 509 334-4555, ext. 228.
