WSU’s University Archives contain materials of permanent administrative or historical value created at WSU, including by our administration, faculty, staff, and students.

We document the history, activities, and people of WSU.

Types of materials include official documents and papers, published and unpublished records, printed resources, ephemera, theses and dissertations, and audiovisual materials. We serve both historical and administrative functions.

Common uses of our archives include university public relations, architectural research, departmental histories, and information on past athletic events. We also provide resources for university publications, theses and dissertations, and biographies of people associated with WSU.

Some parts of the University Archives are restricted. Most records are available, but you may need to file a public disclosure request for others, with the department responsible for the records creation. Some records may be unavailable.

We do not maintain student records or transcripts. Please contact the Registrar about student records or transcripts.

Collection Guides

Collection Guides, or Finding Aids, are guides, inventories, registers, lists, or indexes that describe the contents of a collection. These Collection Guides provide an overview of specific collections in varying degrees of detail. Please note that more resources are available in MASC than indicated by this list of guides.
