More than 150,000 articles are included, with 5,000 added each year; most articles are not in any other index. Coverage goes back to early 1900's, but is strongest from the 1980s to the present.

The print index, Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities (DDAAU), is now available digitally as American Doctoral Dissertations 1933-1955™. EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston worked together to digitize the content and build the free database from the volumes originally published by the H.W. Wilson Company. This effort was made possible through a donation from the H.W. Wilson Foundation.

BASE - Bielefeld Academic Search Engine [Full Text]

BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) is a multi-disciplinary search engine to scholarly internet resources, created by Bielefeld University Library in Bielefeld, Germany. It is based on search technology provided by Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a Norwegian company. BASE is a registered service provider for the Open Archives Initiative (OAI). OAI metadata are "harvested" for the BASE project from scientific digital repositories that implement the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). In addition to OAI metadata, the library indexes selected web sites and local data collections, all of which can be searched via a single search interface.
